21 Summer Baby Products On Amazon That’ll Make Those Dog Days Less Miserable

Just when you think you’ve stocked up on everything you need for your baby, the season changes and you find yourself making an entirely new Amazon wish list of products. And it’s not because you love the thrill of finding that brown box on your doorstep (though, I admit, it is part of it), but because there are so many extra steps you need to take to make sure your infant is safe and happy come rain, shine, and everything in between. If you’re feeling inadequately prepared for high temperatures, you might need some of these baby products on Amazon to make summer a little more comfortable for them. A parent can only predict so much of what their child is going to need. Summer presents a unique set of challenges because it’s the most wonderful time of the year (to me) to take little ones outside and show them the world, but the hot sun can make it harder to keep kids safe, comfortable, and clean. Since no parent should have to think of everything on their own, this list is a compilation of warm-weather baby items I’ve either wished I had in a pinch, or items that helped me out a ton. I wish I had known about a UPF 50+ sun and wind protection blanket e...

A warm welcome to the latest edition of the Vent-Axia Specification Range catalogue.  As part of the ongoing

A warm welcome to the latest edition of the Vent-Axia Specification Range catalogue.  As part of the ongoing drive for energy efficiency within Europe, ventilation devices over 30 Watts come under the scope of the Energy Related Products Directive that came into force on 1st January 2016. The legislation sets minimum performance criteria across a range of fans and ventilation devices under two sets of legislation; ‘residential’ ventilation and ‘non-residential’ ventilation. As a result of the legislation we have reviewed our products and where required made updates to ensure they comply. In line with Vent-Axia’s drive to provide the best solution for our customer, we have taken the opportunity to update and improve some products at the same time as bringing the products in-line with ErP regulations. We have also improved the way we supply some of them – giving you more choice and flexibility over how you stock and sell the products. This edition of our Specification Range catalogue shows the continued investment we are making in our products and services to improve and add to our already comprehensive range. In this catalogue, we have bought together our Lo-Carbon resident...

SRM X Power MTB Power Meter First Look: A Turning Point for SRM?

For the first time in approximately ever, I’m actually excited about an SRM product and where the company is heading. Here, right off the top of this post without a wordy intro, in a mere three bullets I’ll explain why: 1) It’s actually priced appropriately and competitively in the market 2) It doesn’t involve Look’s engineering work, for which the SRM EXAKT pedals were based on (to significant fault) 3) It’s unique in the market and could be the first shipping product in the category (MTB power meter pedals, also applicable to gravel and cross as well) Oh, I guess, I mean…sure…there’s a bit more. Like specs and stuff I suppose. So let’s talk about those. The SRM X may well be the first power meter pedal for mountain bikers once it gets to market later this year. Though, I suppose that title will depend a bit on whether IQ2 can get there first or not with their altered-course Kickstarter project. But, I’m going to presume SRM will win this battle, if only for the reason they’ve been actively testing and riding their pedal since earlier this year. Plus, power meter experience and all that. How To Build Your Own Home Bar This Summer PM_Logo PM_Logo PM_Logo

In a world littered with shortcuts, the feeling of gratification that comes from a well-done DIY project is hard to beat. In fact, taking the time to make something yourself by hand and doing it right is what we’re all about. Knob Creek® stands behind the same philosophy by taking no shortcuts when it comes to distilling their small batch, full-flavored whiskey. This summer, we’re teaming with Knob Creek to bring you a three-part guide to building your own home bar, where you’ll be serving your favorite spirits to friends and family for years to come. Contributing Popular Mechanics Editor, James Schadewald, will take you through building a fully functional bar, with characteristics similar to a whiskey barrel—think crisp, neat, and secure. For this project, we decided on reclaimed oak sourced from Barnyard Boys in Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, because it imparts a unique character not unlike the character you get from aging bourbon. That said, wood from your local home store will work just fine, so get out there and find the materials that work best for you. This bar’s construction is straightforward, but you do need the right tools to get the bar build right. We used...

Italian fragrance company Euroitalia is launching four new fragrances from prestige brands Missoni, Moschino, Versace and Dsquared2. The new women’s fragrance from Missoni is a blend of feminine jasmine and mahonial heart notes, balanced with base notes of sandalwood and Tonka Bean, and topped off with subtle Italian citruses top notes such as lemon, bergamot and pear. Following the launch of the original Moschino Teddy Bear fragrance, the brand reveals a second edition of the fragrance, Moschino TOY 2. This new fragrance features fresh and fruity top notes of mandarin orange, Granny Smith apple, and white currant, enveloped by floral heart notes of jasmine petals and peony, grounded by musky amber wood and sandalwood base notes. The bottle features the same Teddy Bear silhouette, but reimagined as a transparent glass bottle, with a gold collar and gold embossed Moschino logo. The Moschino TOY 2 fragrance  is complemented by the release of bath and body care p...

Chloe gets chic as VIPs create fashion homage to Lagerfeld :: WRAL.com

If you previously used a social network to login to WRAL.com, click the “Forgot your password” link to reset your password. PARIS — Model and singer Pixie Geldof and Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquiere watched from Grand Palais’ front row Thursday morning in Paris as Chloe put on a spring manifesto in wearable chic. Chloe, a Parisian institution founded in 1952, is widely credited with inventing the very concept of ready-to-wear. And since arriving at the house in 2017, designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi has honored that formidable legacy. The talented native of France has consistently towed the line between clothes that are both sophisticated and wearable — a mix that was on display this season. Silhouettes featuring ribbon neckties, flattened torsos and widened shoulders were a contemporary nod to the house’s signature 70s style. A fluid pleated ankle length silk gown in champagne, for example, was given a beautiful tomboy twist with the weight of black buckled leather boots. Such was the legacy of Chanel’s late designer Karl Lagerfeld that he has been given several send offs since his death in February, including a performance in June with Tilda Swinton and...

True luxury: The new Japanese emperor’s new ride is a custom topless Toyota Century

You either understand the appeal of the Toyota Century, the quietly (very quietly) luxurious hand-built rolling testament to Japanese craftsmanship, or you don’t. But even if you don’t, you should at least appreciate the insane amount of work that goes into each and every one of these sedans. We’re talking Ridler Award contender levels of body and paintwork in the service of a totally understated design. The Century is, in a sense, Toyota’s way of recognizing and honoring traditional craftsmanship, even as robots build the vast majority of its consumer-grade cars. It should come as no surprise that the Century has long served as transportation for the Japanese imperial household. But Japan’s got a new emperor, and Naruhito apparently likes to do things a little differently. Feel the wind in his hair, etc., etc. And so Toyota has built him an extra-special one-of-a-kind Century with no roof. It will be used at his official coronation ceremony on Oct. 22. Add in stretched Century limos and the VIP-style Century GRMN, could we be seeing the makings of a full Century line? Probably not, but we can dream. Full disclosure: There’s limited information available on this Century, and we ...

Experts stress the urgent need for better-for-the-planet packaging. Here, innovations driving change.

Experts stress the urgent need for better-for-the-planet packaging. Here, innovations driving change. Not so long ago, most consumers were drawn to a package because it looked good. Today they are drawn to a package because it does good—consumers want something that isn’t going to leach harmful chemicals into the body, and then sit in a landfill harming the planet or polluting our oceans. The Environmental Protection Agency reports that packaging (most of which is attached to food and beverage items) makes up 21% of waste that ends up in landfills (1). The biggest concern right now: Plastic packaging. According to the EPA report, in 2015 14.6% of plastic containers and packaging was recycled; 16.8% was combusted with energy recovery; 68.6% was landfilled (1). Results of the 2018 Sustainable Packaging Study, conducted by Packaging Digest in partnership with the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, revealed that 69% of packaging, plastics and sustainability professionals surveyed feel “a high level of environmental concern around plastic packaging”—and specifically about pollution in our oceans and waterways. Nine in 10 (93%) of the packaging professionals surveyed believe environmen...
